It is time once again to select SAME’s national leaders!
Nominations for National Officers and Elected Directors to serve on the SAME Board of Direction are open from Oct. 1, 2016 through Dec. 1, 2016. Elections for candidates approved through the nomination process will be held in spring 2017 and voted on by the full SAME membership.
The SAME National Leadership Team is committed to finding dedicated volunteer leaders who are steeped in a broad range of SAME experiences over time and who have a solid foundation of proven Post level achievement. We need your active involvement to find the “best of the best” to serve as National Officers and Elected Directors.
SAME has initiated a national leadership nomination process that is inclusive, transparent, and equitable. The process establishes separate nominating committees for National Officers and for Elected Directors. Note that the President-Elect automatically ascends to SAME National President the following year.
NATIONAL OFFICERS (President-Elect and Vice President)
Minimum qualifications:
- Served as an SAME Post President
- Served as a member of the National Board of Direction
- Is an SAME Fellow
- Retired DOD SES or uniformed services officer (O6 or above) or highly successful executive leader at a private sector company
Nominations for National Officers may be made by any Post President, National Board of Direction member, or as a self-nomination.
ELECTED DIRECTORS (One Position Elected will be a Young Member)
Minimum qualifications:
- Served as a Post Leader
- Served on a National Committee or Council
Nominations for Elected Directors may be made by any Post President, National Board of Direction Member, or as a self-nomination.
The Board of Direction provides the continuity and depth to lead such a diverse organization as SAME as we move towards the Society’s Centennial in 2020. Board of Direction nominations will be accepted online from October 1 through December 1, 2016.
