Early bird registration for the 2016 SAME-IFMA Facilities Management Workshop ends January 15!

Being held Feb. 25-26 at the Grand Hyatt in San Antonio, this year’s workshop will offer a true joint perspective for developing solutions to the challenges facing government agencies as well as private sector and academic owners in maintaining, operating and sustaining their facilities and infrastructure.

Presented in partnership by SAME and IFMA—and this year welcoming collaboration from AFE, APPA and APWA—the Facilities Management Workshop is an intensive two-day series of sessions for facilities management practitioners that brings together discourse on topics such as facilities management best practices, asset management, lifecycle sustainability, energy efficiency, financing, and strategic sourcing.

Subject matter experts will be featured representing Army Installation Management Command, Air Force Installation & Mission Support Center, Office of the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense (Installations & Environment), Federal Bureau of Investigation, Air Education & Training Command and more. Speakers also will be on hand representing a perspective from both higher education and private industry.

The education and training opportunities for the 2016 workshop are split into an Energy Track, Facility Management Track, and Executive Track.

Some of examples of the variety of sessions this year include: “Leveraging Technology for Energy Resiliency Through Utility Privatization”; Un-Sensored: Analytics for Lower-Tech Facilities”; “Not Even the Three Pigs Built Their Houses Out of Glass”; “Predictive Analytics: Space Programming on Steroids”; “Influencing the Future of our Water Infrastructure”; and “Demolish, Mothball or Outgrant: A Financial Analysis of Excess Facility Disposition Solutions”.

General Sessions at the 2016 Facilities Management Workshop will feature:

  • “An Owner’s Perspective on the Value of Facility and Energy Managment” with Maj. Gen. Len Patrick, USAF, Vice Commander, Air Education & Training Command, and Brian Yolitz, Associate Vice Chancellor for Facilities, Minnesota State College and Universities.

The SAME-IFMA Facilities Management Workshop welcomes public and private sector facility management practitioners, educators, topic experts, authors, students, product and service providers, members of IFMA, SAME, and partnering organizations, as well as professionals in real estate, engineering, architecture, design, security, IT and human resources. Everyone arrives in search of something — a solution, a best practice, a new skill, a mentor, a client, a fresh perspective, an action plan, a new career opportunity. What are you searching for?
