Developed through support from the SAME Foundation and established in 2019, the SAME Leader Development Program seeks to cultivate talent from within the membership to help support development of the next generation of military, government, and industry leaders for our country, our profession, and our Society.
Applications for the next Leader Development Program class are now open. The deadline to submit is Dec. 2, 2019. Applicants may submit applications online at www.same.org/ldp.
Ultimately, one member from each SAME region and the International Community of Interest will be selected for the one-year program. The new class will begin at the 2020 JETC in Washington, D.C., May 27-29, 2020.
The inaugural class of members from each region and the International Community of Interest is currently working on individual and group projects that are designed to address a key SAME organizational need, while they also participate in a dynamic curriculum of study that includes readings, presentations, and senior level speakers from both industry and government. The class, which began at the 2019 JETC in Tampa, Fla., will graduate at the 2020 JETC in Washington, D.C.
The SAME Leader Development Program is supported by the SAME Foundation, which is underwriting the participation of class participants as well as the overall program. Established in 2016, the SAME Foundation is committing to investing in programs that support its compelling purpose of “fostering engineering leadership for the nation.”
